40' Flat-Rack Container
Container & Cargo Loading
Houston, TX
Project Overview
This project covered reach-stacker loading of a CLAAS Lexion 740 combine harvester onto a 40-foot flat-rack container ahead of export. The tracked harvester was rigged with chains to a spreader beam, lifted clear of its transport trailer, and set down onto the flat rack for securing, then staged on a heavy-haul lowboy for the next leg of the move.
Project Snapshot
- Equipment handled
- CLAAS Lexion 740 combine harvester, tracked APS Hybrid
- Handling objective
- Lift and set the harvester onto a flat-rack container for export
- Next stage
- Securement and heavy-haul transport to the outbound carrier
- Output
- Harvester loaded, staged, and ready for the road move
What Was Done
- Reviewed the harvester's dimensions, track width, and lift points against the flat-rack's deck and the reach stacker's capacity.
- Rigged the machine with chains to a spreader beam for a level, controlled lift.
- Lifted the harvester clear of its trailer using a reach stacker and swung it into position over the flat rack.
- Lowered and set the harvester onto the flat-rack container, aligning the tracks to the deck.
- Staged the loaded flat rack on a multi-axle lowboy trailer, marked and flagged for an oversize road move.
